Ron Rivera Offers Support for Brian Robinson, Jr.

Ron Rivera, head coach of the Washington Commanders, following news of Brian Robinson, Jr.'s tragic incident, released a statement of encouragement and support for his rookie running back.

Per JP Finlay of NBC, Robinson was shot multiple times on Aug 28 in an attempted carjacking, but remains in stable condition.

Rivera's statement read, "I just got done visiting with Brian. He is in good spirits and wanted me to thank everyone for their kind words, prayers and support. He wants his teammates to known he appreciates them all for reaching out and he loves them all and will be back soon doing what he does best."

More details have emerged regarding the attempted robbery from NBC4 Washington.

Police say two suspects allegedly tried to steal Robinson's Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, but after a scuffle ensued, gunshots were fired and the rookie back was struck multiple times.

As of now, no arrests have been made and police are still looking for the two suspects described as, "Black, with shoulder-length dreadlocks and a medium complexion wearing a black or brown shirt with yellow smiley faces." D.C. Police are urging anyone with any information to come forward.
