Mark Sears and Noah Clowney Discuss the Upcoming Season

Mark Sears and Noah Clowney met with the media on Thursday to discuss the upcoming season and the goals they have for the 2022-2023 season.

Sears is in his first year at Alabama after transferring from Ohio looks to make a big splash in his first season at The Capstone. The Muscle Shoals native averaged 19.7 points, six rebounds and 4.1 assists last season for the Bobcats on 44% shooting from the floor.

The Crimson Tide looks to sharpen its craft heading into the scrimmage on Saturday against Southern Illinois. "We have to be more physical, be more relentless, have that dog mentality and having that presence down there and be vocal leaders down there," said Sears.

Last season, complacency was a big factor in Alabama losing a lot of games down the stretch against inferior teams like Texas A&M, Vanderbilt and Notre Dame.

"Its sometimes hard for everyone to buy in but since I've been here I feel like everyone is bought in to one goal and complacency is not something I see on this team," Sears added.

Incoming four-star freshman Noah Clowney is ready to make an impact any way he can for Alabama. The South Carolina native stands at 6-foot-10 inches and could be a force in the paint as well as knock down some outside shots when called upon.

Alabama will have a deep roster despite senior Jahvon Quinerly missing about month due to a tore ACL.

"When I made my decision I felt like I was surrounding myself with better players and be better off in general," Clowney said.
