After a flurry of departures following the 2-10 season, head coach Scotty Walden has been tasked with finding new players to fill roles across the roster.
The NCAA Transfer Portal officially opened on Monday, and several UTEP Miners men's basketball players wasted no time entering their names in the portal.
On the day before the spring semester classes were supposed to begin at UTEP, sophomore wide receiver Tyrin Smith announced that he will be entering the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining.
He hauled in 46 receptions for 570 yards and seven touchdowns during his time in Tuscaloosa with 2022 being his most productive season, finding himself in the endzone six times as a junior.
