Saban Not Happy When Asked About “Injury Report”
Alabama head football coach Nick Saban spoke with the media after the Crimson Tide's 34-0 win over Austin Peay on Saturday. During the postgame press conference, Saban was asked to give a quick update on injuries.
Saban did not appreciate this particular question.
"I don't have a list in front of me, but do you want to be specific? Who do you want to know about," said Saban. "You have to ask, you have to do your homework, I am not bringing an injury report in here and telling you, so you want to know about a specific guy? I'll be glad to share the information, but I don't have an injury report."
The head coach did give an update afterwards when reporters called players out by name.
"[Tyler Steen] he's got a twisted ankle, he'll be day-to-day... Gibbs has a twisted ankle, he should start practicing on Monday... Latu's got a twisted ankle he should start practicing next week as well... Ricks is cleared concussion protocol so I think he'll be able to start practicing Monday."
The tension in the room quickly subsided and everyone erupted in laughter as Saban ended the press conference with a subtle statement.
"You know how much I appreciate you all, thank you so much," he said with a smirk.
Alabama looks to have its full roster available for the regular-season finale against the Auburn Tigers. The Iron Bowl is set to kick off on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 2:30 p.m. CST.
Game day coverage will be available all day on Tide 100.9 and 95.3 The Bear.
