Mac Jones Throws For Career High on Thanksgiving

Mac Jones had one of his best individual performances against the Minnesota Vikings in a Thanksgiving night shootout.

Jones threw for 382 yards breaking his single-game passing yards record in the NFL. Despite Jones breaking his personal record, the Patriots fell short to the Vikings by a score of 33-26.

The former national champion started the game off hot, throwing a 34-yard touchdown to Nelson Agholor to tie the the game at seven. For the remainder of the first half, both teams struggled to find the end zone, trading field goals to enter halftime tied at 16.

Jones maintained rhythm heading into the second half as he marched the Patriots down the field on their first drive. He capped off the drive by completing a 37-yard catch and run to tight end Hunter Henry for a touchdown.

The Vikings didn't back down, responding with a touchdown and a field go on their next two drives. Despite Jones' success in the passing game for the first three quarters, the relentless mentality of the Vikings overpowered the Patriots to end the game.

With nine minutes remaining in the game, the Vikings completed the game-winning touchdown, as they held the Patriots scoreless for the entirety of the fourth quarter.

Jones' previous high in passing yards came in week three against the Baltimore Ravens, where he threw for 321 yards. Jones' two passing touchdowns Thursday night also marked a season high.

Thursday's loss drops New England (6-5) into last place in the tightly contested AFC East, with another Thursday night football matchup coming next week against the Buffalo Bills.
