Family Rivalry Set to Take Place on Saturday
Austin, Texas is the sight of a huge game on Saturday, but this matchup will mean everything and then some for a certain family.
Twin brothers Tommy and James Brockermeyer are set to face off against their older brother Luke Brockermeyer on the field. Tommy and James are both redshirt freshman at Alabama, while Luke is a senior at Texas.
The Brockermeyer brothers are from Fort Worth, Texas and they attended All Saints Episcopal.
Luke has been solid at linebacker for Texas, earning a spot on the All-Big 12 honorable mention list and being named as a Burlsworth Trophy nominee in 2021. Last season, Luke recorded 72 tackles, five tackles for loss, two interceptions, two quarterback hurries, and one pass breakup.
In the Longhorns week one matchup against ULM, Luke recorded one tackle.
Tommy and James have yet to see action for the Tide.
Tommy, a unanimous five-star prospect, was rated as the No. 1 offensive tackle by ESPN.com. James, a unanimous four-star prospect, was rated as the nation’s top center by ESPN.com, 247Composite, and PrepStar. Tommy and James were also both selected to the Under Armour All-America Game roster.
The family ties don’t stop there… their father, Blake Brockermeyer, was an All-American offensive lineman at Texas and their grandfather, Kae, was an offensive tackle at Texas.
Will the Tide roll in favor of the younger siblings or will the older family members enjoy an upset by the burnt orange?
Bragging rights are truly on the line in this household.
