Brian Kelly is Not Focused on Alabama

Former Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly bolted for Baton Rouge this offseason, becoming the latest of many to join the ranks of the SEC, seemingly in an attempt to take down Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Kelly took the podium on Monday and was asked about his previous losses to the Tide and whether or not they motivated him to switch schools.
"[Losing to Alabama] wasn't part of my decision-making. Those were really good teams," Kelly said, "They both won the national championship. I thought we played Alabama better than anybody in that last playoff."
Kelly continued, talking further on his motivation for joining the Tiger staff, "It was timing. It was this place at LSU. It was the administration and the opportunity to bring this program back. It really had nothing to do with the Alabama game."
Many Tide fans likely remember the last two matchups between Kelly and Saban which ended poorly for the Irish, losing twice by a combined margin of nearly 30 points in two post season games.
The scorned coach will get his third opportunity to take down Saban this season when the Tide travels to Death Valley to take on Kelly's Tigers in Week 9 on November 5.
