A New Harry Potter Winery is Headed to the Hill Country in Texas
Harry Potter fans listen up! A new winery is headed to the Hill Country with "Harry Potter" themed wines.
According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, "Serrano Wine" is bringing those Harry Potter themed wines to the Hill Country, thanks to Brice and Sarah Garrett.
The couple met in Tennessee at the University of the South and moved to Paso Robles, California to start their winery, and now they are bringing that winery to Texas. "Serrano," by the way, means "one of/from the mountains."
"Today, we still cling to the idea of conquering our mountains, but the meaning of Serrano has evolved a bit," Sarah Garrett writes on the winery's website. "It is now a journey of freedom, passion, and discovery. With that in mind, we have decided to take on another big challenge: the Texas wine scene! We bought a 10-acre property in Hye, TX and are planning on building a tasting room and winery, while working to make the best wines possible from both Texas and Paso Robles."
They are hoping to have the winery open by this coming spring.
Sarah considers herself a "Harry Potter" enthusiast and Slytherin and has named her wines after things from the "Harry Potter" series including their white blends "Firebolt" and "Liquid Luck," along with "Horcrux," their red blend.
Hye is nestled in the Hill Country close to Fredericksburg and is already home to another winery, Hye Meadow Winery, along with William Chris Vineyards.
So plan your trip now "Harry Potter" wine connoisseurs, and enjoy some good wines, coming to the Hill Country this spring.
