Red Raider Legend Michael Crabtree Is Set for a Busy Day in Lubbock
Michael Crabtree is one of the most decorated NCAA receivers of all time. He was the two-time Biletnikoff winner and a Heisman finalist along with his quarterback Graham Harrell in 2008. Even with all of his stats and memories that were accrued while at Texas Tech, no catch was bigger than the game-winner against Texas in 2008 that's pictured above.
Crabtree was drafted 10th overall the following season by the San Francisco 49ers and played in the league until last year. Crabtree is at or near the top of all statistical categories for receivers at Texas Tech, and is now entering the football program's Ring of Honor.
The actual Ring of Honor induction ceremony for both Michael Crabtree and the late Elmer Tarbox is slated for 11:30 a.m. Saturday, September 18th. Tickets are still available to attend the ceremony, which will take place at the Overton Hotel and Conference center.
After that, Crabtree will head to Red Raider Outfitter located at 68th and Slide for a special autograph signing inside the store.
Along with the signing, there's an array of Crabtree t-shirts that will be available in-store or online at redraideroutfitter.com:
From the signing, Crabtree will head back to Jones AT&T Stadium where he and the Tarbox family will be honored before the kickoff as the names and numbers of Crabtree and Tarbox are unveiled on the West Stadium Building to Jones AT&T Stadium prior to the 6 p.m. kickoff between Texas Tech and Florida International.
Tarbox and Crabtree become the 6th and 7th members of the Red Raiders Ring of Honor. Crabtree will be the first from the Big 12 era to join the iconic list of players that includes Donny Anderson, E.J. Holub, Dave Parks, Gabe Rivera, and Zach Thomas.
