I have been asked to not do plenty of things in my lifetime. When I was little, 'get down from there, you're going to hurt yourself! Don't eat that it will make you sick.' As a teen, 'you better not come home late or you'll be in big trouble!' And as an adult, 'you better stay off of Amazon, you're going to spend too much money and have nothing left for bills!' lol

We have all heard those things plenty of times before, but one warning I can guarantee I've never heard. Stop licking toads! Excuse me? Yeah, hands down, you would never have to issue that warning to me because what the heck? Who does that?

I have NEVER looked at those disgusting little things and thought, 'I wonder what they would taste like?' But apparently, someone in this world has. In fact, many someone's have because The National Park Service is asking people to stop and has issued the warning that it is very dangerous to do so.

The National Park Service says it isn't a good idea to lick ANY animal, but they specifically warn against licking the Sonoran Desert Toad I can't believe I just typed those words. Otherwise known as the 'psychedelic toad' because of the psychedelic effects it produces. According to The National Park Service,

It can make you sick if you handle the frog or get the poison in your mouth.

Unfortunately, people literally lick these amphibians in order to chase the high they can obtain from them, it can also cause hallucinations. It is dangerous and downright dumb. Just don't. Gross.
