 There's a creek close by. When Turkey was founded, it was a - the post office was a dugout and the dugout was on a creek that where all the wild turkey roosted. And then that's how Turkey originally got its name.

Yep, filler up! The first Phillips 66 service station built in Texas opened on the corner of 5th and Main streets in Turkey, Texas. July 27, 1928. It was founded by  founders: L.E. Phillips; Frank Phillips
