With fall camps starting up this week, there are many interesting quarterback battles going on around the SEC. This includes some teams that if they get the right guy under center, then they could make a serious run for the SEC title.

The Tigers have been waiting for their next great QB ever since Cam Newton led the Auburn Tigers to the 2010 National Championship. In Bryan Harsin's second year, he will have to choose between former Texas A&M QB Zach Calzada and TJ Finley.

Before transferring to Auburn, Calzada last year for the Aggies threw for 2,185 and 17 touchdowns. After the Aggies brought in Max Johnson and Haynes King to get healthy, Calzada decided to transfer and go to The Plains.

After junior quarterback Bo Nix went down mid-season with a broken ankle, Finley came in to try and save Auburn's season last year. In five games, Finley threw for 827 and six touchdowns while going 0-5 with notable losses to Alabama, Georgia, and Houston in the Birmingham Bowl.

This year the Tigers hope to have a better record than 6-7 and hope that either Calzada or Finley can lead Auburn to relevance once again.

Coming off a disappointing 8-4 season, Jimbo Fisher and the Texas A&M Aggies are looking for a bounce-back year where they are back in the running for the SEC West.

Last year the Aggies had okay quarterback play with Zach Calzada but the Aggies are looking for an upgrade at the position. Before getting hurt last year Haynes King (Left) was the starting quarterback for the Aggies. In two games, King threw for 300 yards and two touchdowns before fracturing his leg in Week 2 against Colorado. King coming out of high school in the Class of 2020 was a 4-star recruit who showed flashes before getting injured early in the season.

Max Johnson decided he needed a fresh start and decided to come to College Station and get coached by Fisher, after a coaching change at LSU. Last year for the Tigers, Johnson threw for 2,815 yards and 27 touchdowns. If Fisher can pick the right guy to put under center, the Aggies with their top recruiting class of 2022 could possibly be a dark horse for the SEC title.

3. Ole Miss- Jaxson Dart (Left) versus Luke Altmeyer (Right)

Coach Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels are looking for their next quarterback who can lead them to great heights, after losing senior quarterback Matt Corral to the NFL Draft.

Ole Miss has high expectations going into this year as the Rebels last went 10-3 in Kiffin's second year, including representing the SEC in the Sugar Bowl.

Currently, the Rebels have two guys who could possibly be the next Ole Miss quarterback. The first one is USC transfer, Jaxson Dart. Even though he only played in the last five games, Dart threw for 1,353 yards and nine touchdowns. After USC brought in Coach Lincoln Riley and quarterback Caleb Williams from Oklahoma, Dart decided to enter the transfer portal and eventually ended up in Oxford, Mississippi.

After Corrall got injured in the Sugar Bowl, Altmeyer tried to lead the Rebels to a victory against the Big 12 Champions Baylor Bears. Even though the Rebels lost, in Altmeyer's first college start he threw for 153 yards while completing 53 percent of his passes. Even though Dart has more experienced, Altmeyer knows the Ole Miss system better because he has been in Oxford longer.

4. LSU- Jayden Daniels (Left) versus Myles Brennan (Right)

Ever since Joe Burrow and the LSU Tigers won the 2019 National Championship, the Tigers have gone from champions to trash. Since winning the National Championship, LSU has gone 11-12 which eventually led to the firing of Coach Ed Orgeron.

In his first year, head coach Brian Kelly inherits a very talented LSU team that is just missing a quarterback who can take them over the top. Luckily, the former Notre Dame coach has two talented guys who could possibly win the job for the Tigers.

After three underwhelming seasons at Arizona State quarterback, Jayden Daniels decided to enter the transfer and eventually land in the Bayou. In three seasons Daniels threw for 6,024 yards,32 touchdowns, and rushed for 1,288 with the Sun Devils.

After sitting behind Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow, Myles Brennan took over in 2020 and had a 1,000-yard season before having an abdominal injury that ended his season. In 2021, Brennan played in the first three games for the tigers before he broke his arm on a fishing trip. When Brennan is on the field he completes 60 percent of his passes and averages three touchdowns a game, but that is the thing with him staying healthy.

5. Florida- Jack Miller (Left) versus Anthony Richardson (Right)

Going into the 2021 season the Florida Gators had high expectations. After winning the SEC East in 2020, the Gators were trying to repeat as champs and maybe even win the SEC. Everything that could go wrong for Florida went wrong, the Gators last year went 6-7 and 2-6 in SEC play with an embarrassing loss to Missouri.

The Gators tasked Louisiana head coach Billy Napier to rebuild the Florida football program, after firing Dan Mullen. Rebuilding a program starts with choosing the right man to lead the Gator into the 2022 season. Coming out of high school as a four-star recruit in the class of 2021, Jack Miller originally enrolled at Ohio State to be the next great Buckeye.

Miller decided to enter the transfer portal and eventually landed in Gainesville, Florida after losing the quarterback battle to eventual Heisman finalist CJ Stroud. Miller has not played much college football but is still a very talented sophomore who can really compete for the QB1 spot.

Anthony Richardson was shuffled in and out of the starting position with Emory Jones throughout his freshman season,. In the five games, he started Richardson has had an up and down year. He did throw for 500 yards, and six touchdowns, and defeated Florida State, but Richardson also threw five interceptions including two interceptions back to back against the Georgia Bulldogs. Napier now has to choose between two extremely talented quarterbacks who with the right development could possibly become the quarterback Florida fans have waited for since Tim Tebow.
