Many of us are absolutely anticipating the 3-day Memorial Day Weekend for the cookouts, the weekend getaways, the time spent with family and for some a day off from work. And there is nothing wrong with that, however we must not forget to honor our fallen heroes this Memorial Day either. So thankfully I was at Cinergy the other day and discovered that they are bringing back kids' movies again this summer. This saved us last summer. I know a thing or two about kids getting bored during the summer months. I should, I have 3 kids. My entire childhood, during the summer, I spent many days wanting to swim. If any of my friend's had a pool, you can bet I was blowing up their phone asking if I could go over and take a dip. If a friend or family member had a 'swimming party' for their birthday or just to celebrate the end of school, it was going to be a good summer...

Let me start by saying in my defense, I got my pool in the middle of the pandemic. I was homeschooling my kiddos, they needed something to do for 'P.E.' and I needed them out of my hair for a couple of hours a day. Not to mention everyone had the exact same idea in 2020 so the fact that we actually found 1 on store shelves felt like a sign from the pool gods.

Parents, there are not many days left in the school year. Wow! Where did the year go? It flew by. I know as parents, we are counting down the days to hear, 'I'm bored,' while our little ones are counting down to summer freedom! Staying up late, sleeping all day, pool days, sleepovers, outdoor activities and fun!

I told my little one that National Take Your Kids To Work Day was coming up and her response was, what is that? I explained how it is a day for littles to go to work with mom or dad and see what it is they do for a living? She immediately said, 'no thank you that would be boring.' Excuse you?
