Hailey Dunn’s Cause Of Death Revealed In The Indictment of Shawn Adkins

Many wondered if they would ever come that someone would pay for the murder of Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn. On December 27, 2010, 13-year-old Colorado City student Hailey Dunn was reported missing, when her mother's then-boyfriend Shawn  Adkins, said she never showed up at a friend's house.

Searches for the young girl went on for months, Billie Dunn, mother of Hailey Dunn, and her boyfriend Shawn Adkins were suspected right out of the gate. After failed lie detector tests and proven lies to the

police, Billie Dunn was eventually charged with lying to the police and sentenced to a year probation, lying about the whereabouts of Shawn when Hailey went missing.

Years went by and it seemed that no one was ever going to be charged with the murder of this young girl, even after her body was eventually found. Finally, this last June, Shawn Adkins was officially charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence by intentionally and knowingly concealing a human corpse.

The indictments came down on Dec. 30, 2021, in the 32nd Judicial District Court and show Shawn Casey Adkins is accused of striking Hailey Dunn in the head with an unknown object causing her death on Dec. 26, 2010. This is the first mention of a cause of death from any official or court document since Hailey’s body was found.

The indictment for the tampering shows Adkins is accused of intentionally and knowingly concealing the remains of Hailey Dunn with intent to impair its availability as evidence in any investigation.  KCBD Lubbock

Currently, he is being held in the Mitchell County Jail and has a bond of $1.25 million.

I think most of us can't wait until he is proven guilty and punished, but my question is where is Hailey's mom, Billie? Does she have nothing to say? Did she know Shawn did it? Did she help cover it up? Shouldn't she be charged with something?
