Every Wednesday we feature a different pet that needs a new forever home here in the Basin from Lonestar Sanctuary For Animals. Sometimes it's a dog, sometimes it's a cat. They haven't had any guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, or snakes---yet. But you never know!

Meet Brock!

This sweet shy guy is watching all of his playmates get adopted while he stays at the shelter. He is really hoping that the next person or family that comes to look will pick him!  Brock is a beautiful boy that looks very much like a fox!  He is a three-year-old terrier mix. Brock came to us with his housemate, Oreo, when their owners no longer had time for them.  Oreo was just recently adopted and now it's Brock's turn!  He is a very sweet boy if you take the time to let him get to know you. He is very playful and is most comfortable with dogs his size or smaller. Brock loves his sweaters, blankets, and small toys.  Because of his shyness, we wouldn't recommend him for kids under 10.  Brock's adopters would also need to have a fenced-in yard. It is important to remember that adopting a dog from a shelter is different than getting a puppy from a breeder.  They will need time to adjust to you and their new environment. Keeping that in mind, it is very helpful to prepare for your new best friend's arrival by having everything he or she needs Before you get him or her from the shelter.

Once home, remember the rule of three: three days to decompress, three weeks to get used to your routine and home, and three months to feel completely at home.
