Former Alabama Quarterback Lands on NFL Top 100 List
Former Alabama quarterback Mac Jones landed at No. 85 on the NFL's Top 100 list.
The rankings are voted on by current players in the league which determines the top 100 players in the NFL in 2022.
The former national champion was drafted at No. 15 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. At the end of August, Jones was announced as the starting quarterback over former Auburn player Cam Newton.
During his rookie campaign, Jones went 352-of-521 for 3,801 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. He led the Patriots to a 10-7 record and postseason appearance, where the Patriots lost to the Buffalo Bills 47-17. The Fla., native made the 2022 Pro Bowl as well as competed in the skills challenge.
Since the Patriots season ended, Mac Jones is reportedly gotten into better shape and his game has significantly improved.
Jones is one of three former Tide stars to make the list thus far, joining former defensive end Jonathan Allen at No. 88 and former wide receiver Jaylen Waddle at No. 63.
The NFL Top 100 List will continue to be announced on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at 4:40 p.m. EST on the NFL Network with No. 31-50 is released.
