statement on their Facebook page informed students and parents of the upcoming changes:

❄️❄️ WINTER WEATHER UPDATE ❄️❄️

- NORMAL DISMISSAL TODAY!
- NO AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING ATHLETICS, TODAY!
- RIGHT AT SCHOOL STILL OPEN TODAY!
- SCHOOLS WILL BE CLOSED TOMORROW!
Due to winter weather, schools will be closed tomorrow (Thursday, February 3). We will have normal dismissal today. Please stay warm and be safe!
As of now, there is no word on what operations will be for Friday but we will keep you updated on changes that we are made aware of.
As for Ector County Schools, they will also be closed. Here is a statement  from ECISD:
Several members of our leadership team joined a call with the National Weather Service this morning at 9:30. Based on their most up-to-date information and predictions about weather and road conditions, we are making the following decisions:
• We will follow our regular schedule for the rest of today and dismiss at regular times; buses will also run their normally scheduled routes.
• All schools that have an extended hour will cancel the extended hour and dismiss ALL students at the same time.
• ALL after-school activities at ALL schools are canceled.
• ECISD will close all schools and all offices on Thursday, February 3. Again, ECISD will be closed tomorrow.
• District leaders will evaluate conditions and get current forecast information from the NWS on Thursday before making any decisions about school on Friday.
A reminder for Ector Middle School parents; Ector College Prep operates independently and may have a different plan. If your child attends Ector College Prep please wait for a message directly from the school.
Please be safe and stay warm!
Please stay warm and stay safe out there, and remember don't travel unless you have to.  Take your time and allow plenty of space between you and other drivers.
