The Texas Tech Red Raiders have the highest team GPA of the teams still playing college baseball and Braxton Fulford is at the top of his team.

The Red Raider sophomore was the recipient of the Elite 90 winner for the 2019 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship. Fulford has a 3.94 GPA and is majoring in finance. He is also batting .292 and has been a menace to base runners from behind the dish.

 

According to a Texas Tech release, "The Elite 90, an award founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's championships."

Texas Tech Baskeball Player Davide Moretti also won the award this season.
