Texas Tech basketball is almost really good at the sport of basketball.

It's painful how close they are to being 2-0 in conference play, but in reality they have started 0-2 after a tough loss to Kansas. The Red Raiders first home loss in the last 30 games at the United Supermarkets Arena. It was Kevin McCullar's return trip to Lubbock after leaving the Red Raiders to become a Jayhawk, and it'll be McCullar celebrating tonight after his team takes the 75-72 victory.

The Red Raiders came out swinging early taking an early 15-7 lead on the Jayhawks, but by the 10 minute mark in the first half Kansas would have their first lead after a Jalen Wilson three-pointer. 23-22. Kansas would stretch that lead to 6 by the end of the first half.

In the second half, the Red Raiders would trail the entire time. Never able get over the hump on either side of the floor. Texas Tech did make a few runs late, including a run to storm all the way back to within one within the final seconds of the game, but a no-call on a Pop Isaacs drive gave Kansas a transition bucket to retake a three point lead.

Texas Tech would not get a clean shot off at the buzzer.

There were several individual performances to be proud of for Texas Tech including Kevin Obanor who had 26 points and seven boards. Pop Isaacs also had his second straight big game with 18 points and two steals. Jaylon Tyson was the only other Red Raider in double figures with 10.

The Texas Tech bench only scored eight points, but the Kansas bench only added nine, so that wasn't a huge difference in the game.

In the end, Kansas just made one more shot than Texas Tech. Simple as that.

The Red Raiders are 0-2 in Conference play with no rest in sight. They get back on the floor against Oklahoma on Saturday at home in the United Supermarkets Arena.
