Is Mark Wahlberg Really ‘Poking Fun’ at Patrick Mahomes?
Let me get one thing out in the open before we go any further. I am a very huge supporter of the New England Patriots, especially the G.O.A.T., Thomas Edward Patrick Brady, Jr.
I also know that I'm in the minority when it comes to who people want to see win this Sunday. But I digress.
After their win against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, Brady took to Instagram for his weekly celebratory post about the game and what's coming up next week for the Patriots.
The matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs is one that everyone knew was inevitable, especially after the success a certain former Red Raider has had at the helm of the franchise. It's even bigger knowing that this game will add to the legacy of whichever quarterback wins.
Looking at the comments on Brady's Instagram post, you'll see a certain actor show his appreciation for Brady, plus share what he wants to see happen to Mr. Mahomes on Sunday.
For those who aren't aware, Mark Wahlberg is a HUGE New England Patriots fan, and a huge fan of Boston in general. He's been to multiple Super Bowls that featured the Patriots and is always a big fan of TB12.
Some are saying that the successful actor and once former recording artist was "poking fun" at the "young gun," but I'm having a hard time seeing where they get something like that.
I like to think of "young gun" as more of a compliment than anything.
I think Marky Mark was just showing his support of his favorite quarterback. A quarterback who has had the odds stacked against him time after time and has always come through the other side victorious. And I think this weekend will be no different.
The New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs are set to do battle on Sunday, January 20th at 5:40 p.m. on CBS. The winner moves on to Super Bowl LIII on February 3rd, 2019.
