Former Alabama and current New England Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore had to leave Tuesday's training camp early after getting into a fight with a fellow teammate.

Getting ejected for fighting has been a long-serving rule for Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

"New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick has a non-negotiable rule for players that if they fight in practice, they are immediately ejected. The reason, as he has explained in the past, is that a player would be ejected for fighting in a game so practice shouldn't be any different," wrote Reiss in an ESPN story from 2017.

There are also reports that state Mac Jones tried to break up the fight and almost got stuck in it trying to intervene. It was the second fight of practice today.

This comes shortly after reports from training camp that the Patriots offense has been struggling tremendously with just one month until the start of the season.

Belichick recently named Matt Patricia, an usual defensive coach, the new offensive coordinator after the departure of longtime offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

However, the former second-round pick seemed to be in good spirits while talking to the media after training camp ended for the day.

"We've been practicing against each other all the time, I guess you could say guys are ready to play against another team," said Barmore.

Barmore joins former Alabama players Mac Jones, Damien Harris, Mac Wilson, and Anfernee Jennings on the 2022 Patriots team. New England will play the Miami Dolphins on September 11, 2022, at noon CST to kick off its NFL season.
