Former Alabama pitcher David Robinson and the Philadelphia Phillies advance past the St. Louis Cardinals in the wild card round to meet division foe Atlanta Braves in the National League Division Series (NLDS).

The Phillies swept the Cardinals 2-0 in the best of three Wild Card round to move on to the NLDS that begins today at noon in Atlanta.

Robertson pitched one inning, giving up no runs and no hits with two strikeouts in the Phillies dramatic come from behind win to stun the Cardinals.

The Phillies scored six runs in the top of the ninth to steal game one in the best-of-three series. Robertson did not pitch in the Phillies 2-0 win in game two.

Philadelphia will travel to Atlanta for games 1 and 2 of the best of five series. The Phillies will start Ranger Suarez whereas the Braves will turn to its ace, Max Fried.

The former Crimson Tide pitcher is seeking his second World Series of his career, winning one with the Yankees in 2009.

The Tuscaloosa native has had tough luck in the postseason, Robertson is making his eighth  postseason appearance and has only one championship.

The All-Star pitcher has a 3.03 ERA in 34 postseason appearances with 44 strikeouts and a 1.03 WHIP.

The Phillies look to avenge their regular season struggles against the Braves, Philadelphia went 11-8 and were outscored 87-85 over nineteen games this season.
