Back in May, Broderick Washington was the first NFL rookie that was drafted to sign with his new team. The 5th round defensive tackle signed a four-year deal reportedly worth $3.6 million.

The Red Raiders had two draft picks back in April, and the second has also reached a deal with his team, the Seattle Seahawks.

Jordyn Brooks was the Red Raiders' earliest draft pick since Patrick Mahomes went 10th overall to the Kansas City Chiefs, and the first Texas Tech defensive player taken in the first round since Gabriel Rivera went 21st overall in 1983.

Brooks signed a four-year rookie deal worth just over $12 million. That money is bolstered by a $6.4 million signing bonus. That's great money for Brooks, who has an opportunity to get a lot of playing time beside all-pro Bobby Wagner and KJ Griffin.

Brooks and Washington have already reported to training camp and will begin full workouts in the coming weeks getting ready for the NFL season that is still on track to start, albeit without any preseason games.
