Amari Cooper Had a Big Day Despite Browns Loss
The Cleveland Browns were defeated 31-23 by the Buffalo Bills, but Cooper's effort was one of the reasons the game was so close. Due to severe snowfall in Buffalo, the Browns and Bills were forced to relocate to Ford Field in Detroit.
Coop had eight catches for 113 yards and two touchdowns on the day. The Bills' defense ranks among the top ten in the NFL in terms of points (2nd), yards (6th), and passing touchdowns (2nd) entering the week. Despite the defeat, Amari Cooper was able to dominate against an excellent defense.
The former Alabama star has 585 yards and five touchdowns on the season, which is tied for the ninth most touchdown receptions in the league. The Browns are 3-7 on the season and presently rank fourth in the AFC North.
Cooper has had success with the Cleveland Browns this season after being traded from the Dallas Cowboys in the offseason. The four-time pro bowler was moved by Dallas for two fifth-round picks and a pair of sixth-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. In his last season with the Cowboys, Coop's 865 yards were a Cowboys career low but he finished with eight touchdowns. He had two 1,000-yard seasons in his two full years in Dallas.
The Browns have been without their multi-million dollar quarterback Deshaun Watson, who has been suspended for the first few games of the season and is expected to return in week 13 against the Houston Texans. Cooper has had success with backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett, so picture how effective he will be with a far more skilled quarterback throwing him the ball.
