Xavier White went to Dodge City C.C. last season as a freshman, but he spent his high school years here in Lubbock at Monterey High School with the Plainsmen.

White came into Texas Tech this offseason as a transfer, and the coaches raved about his ability and athleticism. He showed that off on Saturday during Texas Tech's season opener.

White was the Red Raiders' leading receiver, with five catches for 105 yards and a touchdown. It was Monterey High School's 9th touchdown of the weekend...if you count the 55 points that Monterey put up against Odessa High Friday night.
