What Awesomeness is Opening in the Former Tokyo Express/Lost Cajun in Midland?
The building that was just recently Tokyo Express has just gotten approval by new owners for alcoholic beverage sales by the Midland Planning and Zoning Commission.
The new owners are planning to open a new Asian restaurant called Szechuan House restaurant at the former Tokyo Express/Lost Cajun building on Wadley in Midland.
The restaurant will have a full bar and restaurant seating for 92 people with proposed hours to be from 11 am-9:30 pm Sunday through Thursday and 11 am-10:30 pm Friday and Saturday.
The alcohol serving hours will also be 11 am-9:30 pm Sunday through Thursday and 11 am-10:30 pm on Friday and Saturday.
No word as of yet if the new owners will utilize the patio area on the west side of the building after Tokyo Express did not open the patio area while they were open.
The patio area was added to the building back in 2019 when Lost Cajun was operating out of the building at the time and Lost Cajun utilized the patio area before closing due to COVID-19 in 2020.
The original building was built for Wings and More which opened in the building first in the early 10s but closed after only about a year of operation.
Shortly after that Lost Cajun, which already had a location in east Odessa, bought the building and converted it into Lost Cajun which saw success for many years until the height of the COVID-19 pandemic caused them to have to shut down.
The building was vacant for about a year until Tokyo Express opened up just last year but only lasted about a year before closing down, so now it will soon be Szechuan House and I know I will definitely stop by and check it out once it opens.
