Warning! TikToker Tells Parents Make Sure This Is Not In Your Kids Halloween Candy!
For as long as I can remember parents have always been warned to be leery of their kid's Halloween candy. Do not go trick or treating at the houses of people you do not know. It is not just about going around collecting all the candy you can tonight, take your children to safe spots, and do not just let them run around going from house to house.
This year unfortunately there is a big Fentanyl scare. What is fentanyl? According to DEA.gov,
Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is 50-100 times stronger than morphine.
Translation: it is certainly not something we want our children ingesting. Unknowingly or otherwise. Some Fentanyl pills are disguised as brightly colored pills similar to Skittles, Nerds candy, SweetTarts and other such boxes or bags of candy.
The important thing is to pay close attention to where your kids are trick or treating and pay attention to the candy they will no doubt be eating all night. I get it. Trick or treat, then race home to dump out on the table and see what all was collected. Perhaps a thorough examination of your child's candy to make sure there is nothing that has already been opened or that no packaging or seals have been broken will suffice.
Parents we are usually pretty good at spotting anything suspicious, if it looks sus, throw it out, there is plenty more where that came from. Check out this TikToker's warning about how Fentanyl has already been found in Halloween candy.
