Update (Sept. 21st, 2020 at 3:24 p.m.): More information has come to light about the arrest of Texas Tech running back SaRodorick Thompson.

According to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, Thompson's arrest stems from a June 27th, 2020 racing incident in Lubbock involving two other drivers. He's being charged with a Class B misdemeanor for racing, according to the site.

Not long after the June 27th street race, one of Thompson's teammates, Caden Leggett, was arrested and charged with the same crime. Thompson is believed to be one of the two other drivers who initially did not pull over for police.

At this time, Texas Tech continues to gather facts regarding the situation and will handle the matter in accordance with the Student-Athlete Code of Conduct process."
