Ten Trade Targets That Could Bring the NY Mets a Title [RANKED]
The 2022 MLB Trade Deadline is nearly upon us, and the rumor mill is consistently churning out interesting stories.
Not one, but both New York baseball teams are in the hunt for the playoffs, as well as a division title, this season. That said, neither team has the *perfect* roster as of late July, which would suggest that both teams will be in the market for a trade or two.
We previously broke down a few of the targets that the New York Yankees may look to acquire, but what about the New York Mets? Who will they target ahead of the deadline?
The New York Mets have an advantage that few teams in baseball can say they have: an owner and front office that wants to win, and will do anything in order to accomplish that goal. Team owner Steve Cohen, and General Manager Billy Eppler, have shown a penchant for making splashy moves, and I expect no different at this year's Trade Deadline.
The Mets are not without their flaws, which makes this deadline even more interesting. Despite trading for power hitter Daniel Vogelbach late last week, there is definitely an appetite for another power-hitting first baseman or designated hitter to join the everyday line-up.
Not only that, but the Mets have had some issues at the back end of their bullpen, and haven't found a consistent "set-up man" to help get to Edwin Diaz in the ninth inning. The Mets have been mentioned in talks for relief pitchers in recent weeks, something I definitely expect to continue.
Okay, let's cut to the chase. Who will be in a New York Mets' uniform after the 2022 MLB Trade Deadline? Here are ten players that I believe the team will target, ranked by their likelihood of becoming a New York Met.
