During a press conference, Texas Tech Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt revealed some qualities he's looking for in the football team's next head coach.

Just before 2 p.m. on Monday, Texas Tech Athletics Department confirmed the firing of head football coach Matt Wells.

The Red Raiders and Wildcats will kickoff next Saturday at 11am at Jones AT&T Stadium. Texas Tech is trying to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2017.
