By far the most entertaining and competitive game of the NFL Divisional Playoff weekend was in Santa Clara last night.

Iowa Hawkeye football fans were very pleased earlier this month when former Michigan Wolverine quarterback Cade McNamara announced that he would be transferring to the program following this season.

It's been a tough year to be a quarterback for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Just days after the Hawkeyes were bounced from contention for a Big Ten West Title, one veteran quarterback within the program has announced his intention to transfer.

It's been quite the turnaround of late for the 2022 Iowa Hawkeye football program. On Saturday, the team hung tough against a good Minnesota team, and ultimately picked up the 13-10 victory.

No matter which way you slice it, it's been a disappointing 2022 season for Kirk Ferentz and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Although they are technically still alive in the race for the Big Ten West, many Hawkeye fans are already looking forward to next season.

The Cy-Hawk game is as important of sporting event as any on the Iowa sports fan's calendar. On Saturday, the rivalry will play it's 69th ever game, set to kickoff at 3:00 from Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City.

The College Football season continues to creep closer, with week 0 games now on the horizon. Area programs were not represented particularly well in the first coaches poll ahead of the upcoming season.
