The Sox and Pats won titles during their respective 2018 seasons and that's the last champions we've seen. Going on five years is as extreme of a title drought New England has experienced since the start of the 21st century.
Both teams should find themselves in contention for a postseason spot this season, as was the case last year when both the Pats and Raiders finished as Wild Card teams in the AFC.
I know that for most Red Sox fans, rooting for anything to do with the New York Yankees is sacrilegious. But in no sport is the history richer, and the numbers more holy than baseball. And when it comes to history, I'll always root to witness it.
Over the next four weeks, we'll be using the Drive Poll to predict the 2022 NFL standings, beginning today with the AFC/NFC West. Will the Chiefs and Rams repeat, or will their be new challengers this season?
