ICYMI over the weekend here in Texas, a wind turbine caught on fire in Crowell, Texas. Crowell, about 2 hours East of Lubbock, was the sight of the wind turbine that spun on fire as onlookers caught video.  Scroll down to see video.

According to KSAT...

A lightning storm caused quite a shocking scene after it zapped a massive wind turbine in North Texas, setting it ablaze before it came tumbling down.

Shortly after being struck, the wind turbine continued to spin, sending the flames in a loop and leaving rings of smoke behind.

According to onlookers, the turbine spun and then finally was disintegrated by the flames.

According to KSAT...
The Crowell Volunteer Fire Department got called out to the turbine. Storms came through the town of Crowell which started the fire.  So far there have been no reports of any injuries connected to the fire or the storm that cause it to ignite according to news reports.

How many time have you driven here in Texas and seen these WInd Turbines just spinnig away? Imagine, driving and doing a double take as you see HUGE smoke rings from one of these huge turbines. Yes, defintiley somehting you don't see everyday here in Texas!
