The Arizona Cardinals were feeling themselves with a backup quarterback this weekend on their way to an impressive victory over the San Francisco 49ers that moved them to 8-1 on the season.

That's the best record in the NFC -- and the entire NFL, for that matter.

The Cardinals were absolutely cooking last night thanks to plays from Chandler Jones and Markus Golden on defense, and plays from QB Colt McCoy and running back James Conner on offense.

Even former Red Raider Antoine Wesley was getting in on the action, catching this reverse pass from former Aggie Christian Kirk:

Kingsbury's offense was rolling, and 49ers cornerback Josh Norman took offense and tried to talk a little trash to Kingsbury on the sideline. The only problem for Norman was, Kingsbury didn't back down. Both Norman and Kingsbury were penalized for their back and forth:

After the game, Kingsbury said the whole thing was a misunderstanding.

That's not the only thing Kingsbury said in the post-game. With Kyler Murray nursing a bum ankle, backup Cardinals quarterback Colt McCoy took the snaps behind center this week. McCoy quarterbacked the Texas Longhorns to much success in the late 00s, even taking the team to the National Championship game.

Kingsbury, perhaps the most famous Red Raider athlete alum this side of Patrick Mahomes, said he was happy for the Longhorns fans who got to enjoy at least one win this weekend after the Longhorns fell to Iowa State over the weekend. Ouch.

After the Cardinals' latest win, Kingsbury has pledged $40,000 to Team Luke Hope for Minds after promising $5,000 per win before the season. There's also an anonymous donor matching that, so the total is $80,000 dollars to Team Luke's foundation.

What's more, if the NFL season ended today, the Cardinals would be the number one seed in the NFC playoffs and Kingsbury would be the NFL Coach of the Year.

It's good to be the King.
