October 18th is National Chocolate Cupcake Day. How Are You Celebrating?
Today is National Chocolate Cupcake Day, so how are you going to celebrate a day for delicious chocolate cupcakes of all kinds?
According to National Day Callendar, the history of cupcakes can be traced back to 1796 when a recipe for "a cake to be baked in small cups" was featured in "American Cookery" by Amelia Simmons.
The name "cupcake" was featured in a recipe book in 1828, bakers would bake the cakes in small heavy pottery cups, today bakers use everything from the standard muffin pan to coffee mugs.
Celebrate today by making a wide variety of chocolate cupcakes, here are some recipes:
Cream Cheese Chocolate Cupcakes
Chocolate Fudge Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Frosting
Super Easy, Super Moist Chocolate Cupcakes
Chocolate Cream Filled Chocolate Cupcakes
Dark Chocolate Cupcakes
When taking pictures of your creation use #ChocolateCupcakeDay when you post the pics on social media.
If you are not in the mood to cook well then buy up some cupcakes at your favorite grocery store's bakery, or just buy something like Hostess Cupcakes that you can find in the bread aisle.
I will be visiting my favorite grocery store myself to buy up some chocolate cupcakes because I am not really in the mood to slave over a hot stove to create some cupcakes and then have to do all the work of frosting them all while having worked all day.
Yes I know I am taking the simple way out, but it is all good on a day dedicated to the wonderful chocolate cupcake.
