There's being bored at a sporting event, and then, there's this.

Tuesday night's game between the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays was, in a word, lackluster. Yes, it featured two very strong pitching performances by both teams, but from an action and excitement standpoint, there wasn't much to write home about.

So, Yankees' fans decided to create their own entertainment. I've seen a lot, but I can't remember ever seeing this.

New York Yankees' Bleachers Turn into Barbershop During Tuesday's Game

Let me set the scene for you all. It's the bottom half of the eighth inning at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday, August 16th. The New York Yankees are trailing the Tampa Bay Rays, 3-1, and Marwin Gonzalez is at the plate with one out.

To that point, it had been a pretty quiet day on both sides. Aside from a first-inning three-run home run by Randy Arozarena, the only other run had come a few innings prior, on an infield hit that scored Andrew Benintendi from third base.

The broadcast pans to the stands, and for some reason, here's what they saw:

No, don't worry, you're not hallucinating. You're really seeing one fan in the stands, with spray bottle and comb in-hand, giving another fan a haircut in the middle of a Major League Baseball regular season game.

That's a new one for me, too.

Look, things haven't been great for the Yankees in recent weeks. The team is 8-17 since the All-star break, and had it not been for the one run last night, they would've been shut out in each of their last three games. The offense has dried up, and try as they might, the pitching staff cannot help them win games if the scores are 0-0.

That being said, they still have a large lead in the American League East, and reinforcements (Stanton, LeMahieu, healthy Rizzo) on the way. It's the New York Yankees, for goodness sake, not the Pirates or the Tigers.

So, save your haircuts for business hours, and enjoy your time at the stadium. Credit to the barber, however, for embracing the entrepreneurial spirit. Hopefully, he was able to hand out a few business cards on his way out of the ballpark last night.
