The Philadelphia Eagles earned a big road win against the Washington Commanders Sunday afternoon to improve to 3-0 for the first time since 2016.

Third-year starter Jalen Hurts led the charge for the Eagles offense, going 22-of-35 for 340 yards and three touchdowns. Hurts also ran the ball nine times for 20 yards.

Philadelphia started out the game slow but erupted for 24 unanswered points in the second quarter to take a 24-0 lead going into halftime.

The former Alabama quarterback connected with tight end Dallas Godert for his first touchdown of the game.

The Texas native would find former Ole Miss wideout AJ Brown with 2:56 left in the first half to extend the lead to 17-0.

Hurts later found former Alabama wide receiver, Devonta Smith at the end of the first half for a spectacular touchdown catch that would be Smith's first and only touchdown of the day.

The former Heisman Trophy winner would cap off his big day by finishing with eight catches for 169 yards and one touchdown.

The Eagles are the second team to start 3-0 this season joining the Miami Dolphins, led by former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa who are coming off a dramatic win against the Super Bowl favorites, Buffalo Bills.

The Eagles with Hurts and Smith will be in action again next week when they face off against Trevor Lawerence and the Jacksonville Jaguars at noon on CBS.
