
Masked Suspects Caught Trying To Break Into West Temple Cars
On Saturday at roughly 4 a.m., residents in West Temple were shocked when four masked suspects attempted to break into a number of vehicles.
Neighbors Spot Masked Suspects on Security Footage
Maria Garcia told the Temple Daily Telegram she was abruptly woken when her son’s car alarm went off. "When we went outside, and the Temple Police were already there", Garcia said. "They were blessed that we didn't catch them in the act, we missed them by 10 minutes."
Police Respond Quickly and Locate One Suspect
According to reports Temple Police responded to calls reporting masked suspects that attempted to break into vehicles on the 8000 block of Palmetto Leaf Drive. At least one of the suspects, a minor, was later located at a local gas station.
Camera Footage Captures the Attempted Break-Ins
Garcia reported that her family’s security camera caught everything. "You can see everything!" Garcia told the Telegram, "One of them looked in our mailbox and another looked in the car in the driveway."
Family Says They’re Prepared to Defend Themselves
"My husband is a retired military, and so he's a very big guy, and my kids were young he taught us all", Garcia told to the Telegram.
Frustration Grows Over Repeat Incidents
"We as a community are tired of seeing too many of these videos", Garcia told TDT.
Temple Police reported that more details would be released as the investigation continues. Neighborhood residents were urged to lock their vehicles and review their security footage for any signs of suspicious activity.
