
Data Has Revealed Lower Alcohol Sales Showing For Texas Restaurants
Going out to eat can be an experience here in the Lone Star State. Sometimes, the eatery is a bit different from other places, and other times its a simple dinner out. Some even enjoy a little bit of alcohol when eating, but things might be changing in Texas.
What Is Going On With Texas Eateries?
The state of Texas is filled with many restaurants that people frequent. But as of recent data, things have become a little tougher for eateries in the state. Many factors have contributed to the situation as a whole.

While people purchasing food in restaurants has declined, other things have gone down in things being bought as well. One of those items is none other than the previously mentioned alcohol. Data shows that sales of alcohol are down.

But how is this happening and what is the indicator?
Alcohol Sales Down In Texas Restaurants, But Why?
According to NBCDFW, alcohol isn't being as drunk as much when people are going out to eat. Chief Public Affairs Officer for the Texas Restaurant Association, Kelsey Erickson Streufert said the following:
"Almost 40% of Texas restaurant operators are reporting that their alcohol sales are down compared to 2024."
What exactly could be causing this? Well, budgets for the consumers. As stated Kelsey Erickson Streufert
"We know that consumers are feeling the financial pressure of inflation and higher prices on everything...One place that you do see consumers start to pull back on their spending is when they go out to eat at a restaurant."
It will take some time to see if people decide to once again add wine back to "wine and dine."
