
Drivers Alert! Flooding Closes Roads in Killeen, Copperas Cove
I’d say it’s been raining nonstop — and “raining cats and dogs” is definitely an understatement when it comes to the past few days here in Central Texas.
According to KCENT, the flooding has been so severe that flash flood alerts are in effect until 10:00 AM tomorrow. The National Weather Service has issued a warning for the city of Killeen specifically, in effect until 10:15 AM, with ongoing flash flood watches beginning at 7:00 PM tonight. Several roads have already flooded, and there is a strong possibility of more closures throughout the night.

Please use extreme caution if you must drive. If you don’t absolutely need to be on the roads, it's best to stay home. The police department has emphasized that driving through water-covered roads is extremely dangerous and have referred to the situation with the phrase: “Turn around, don’t drown.”
Urgent: Flooding Shuts Down Key Roads in Killeen and Copperas Cove
Several streets in Copperas Cove have already been closed, including North 11th Street to Courtney Lane, as well as Avenue B/FM 13 from North to 11th. In Killeen, Watercrest Road has been described as particularly hazardous, and residents are strongly advised to avoid it. Additionally, do not drive down Bunny Trail under any circumstances.
