Former Rider Raider Going Into Ohio State Hall of Fame

Before he helped Ohio State secure a National Championship in football. He was throwing touchdown passes in Wichita Falls. Looks like J.T. Barrett will be immortalized forever in the Ohio State Hall of Fame.

Over the weekend, Ohio State announced their Hall of Fame class for 2026. J.T. Barrett (football), Katie Borchers (women's cross country/track and field), Diane Dixon (women's track and field), Jincy Dunne (women's hockey), Danielle Meyer (women's volleyball), Oyesade Olatoye (women's track and field), Chris Sanders (football/men's track and field), Nick Swisher (baseball) and Stan White (football).

J.T. Barrett Going Into the Ohio State Hall of Fame

The name that many will recognize from Wichita Falls is J.T. Barrett who played for Rider high school from 2008-2012. When it comes to important quarterbacks in Ohio State history, he's near the top in a lot of folks minds. The biggest thing, never lost to Michigan. Barrett went 4-0 against Michigan during his college career. He's also one of only two players in Division I College Football history to pass for 100 touchdowns and rush for another 40.

When Will J.T. Barrett Get Inducted Into the Ohio State Hall of Fame?

Ohio State says they plan to announced the induction ceremony at a later date. Typically, it happens in the fall around October. The Hall of Fame class is usually honored on the field at football game every fall in front of a 100,000 plus fans. Over 500 people have been inducted into the Ohio State Hall of Fame since 1977. The Hall of Fame is located on the Ohio State campus at the Jerome Schottenstein Center (basketball/hockey arena).

What is J.T. Barrett Up To in 2026?

Barrett is currently the Chicago Bears quarterbacks coach. He officially took that position in 2025 when Ben Johnson became the head coach of the Bears. The two were previously both on the Detroit Lions staff. The Chicago Bears bye week this year is November 15th. Maybe that's when J.T. gets inducted into the Hall of Fame? Ohio State does have a home game on November 14th. We will wait and see.
