Animals Are Going Wild At Zia Park Race Track In Hobbs
Animals are invading Zia Park Casino,
Hotel, and Race Track in Hobbs. As you know Zia Park is home to a casino with slots and video poker as well as a horse racing track, this Sunday you will find more than just horses racing on the track.
On Sunday you can watch ostriches and camels race. I know it sounds crazy to think that the two animals will race but do you they can actually both run about 40 miles per hour.
On Saturday you can meet and greet the camels and the ostriches from 3p-3pm New Mexico time so that would be 4-7pm Texas time. This will take place on the Race Apron. You will be able to take pictures with the animals. This event is free and open to the entire family. There will be food truck at the event to enjoy sweet treats.
Come back on Sunday to watch the ostriches and camels race. The camel and ostrich races will happen in between the horse races, which will begin at 12 eastern time, 1pm Texas time. Bring the entire family to enjoy food trucks, wild racing and loads of fun!
$10 Parking fee per car. Owner and Elite members receive complimentary parking. Parking fee will include viewing of the races and a $10 Free SlotPlay voucher. Must be 21 or older to receive Free SlotPlay voucher.
Racing season runs through December 4th with races on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesdays starting at 12pm eastern time.
Zia Park is also home to the Starting Gate Bar and Grill, Turf Club Restaurant, and Centennial Steakhouse.
