Last week, Kyle Rittenhouse went on a podcast touting he would be going to Texas A&M University in the fall but retracted that on Twitter.

According to the Texas Tribune, Rittenhouse took to Twitter to correct what he said during the podcast, saying he was going to Blinn College, a community college with strong transfer partnerships to Texas A&M, instead of Texas A&M itself.

His announcement was one day after spokespeople for Texas A&M said he had not been accepted at the Tier One research university for the summer or fall semesters.

“Unfortunately, the end of my high school career was robbed from me,” Rittenhouse wrote on Twitter. “I didn’t have the time other students get to properly prepare for the future. I look forward to attending Blinn College District this year, a feeder school for Texas A&M. I’m excited to join Texas A&M in 2023!”

In another Tweet, Rittenhouse told of his plans to move to Texas at the end of June 2022.

To get you up to date if you have been under a rock for the past two years, Rittenhouse, then 17, drove from his home in Antioch, Illinois to Kenosha, Wisconsin where protests were going on for the shooting of an African-American male by a Caucasian police officer.

Rittenhouse said he went there to help law enforcement protect property during the protests. He was accused of fatally shooting two men and another with the rifle he took over state lines. He was acquitted of multiple felony charges where his argument was that it was in self-defense.

Last Friday, he went on "The Charlie Kirk Show," where he stated he was going to Texas A&M.

“I’m going to be going there, and it’s going to be awesome,” Rittenhouse said to Kirk. “Beautiful campus, amazing people, amazing food.”

Rittenhouse had previously said he was going to Arizona State University to study nursing, but a school spokesperson said he had not gone through the admissions process.
