The New York Giants have officially announced signing tight end Tanner Hudson.

Tanner Hudson appeared in a tryout in front of coaches and executives Thursday morning.

Hudson, a 6-foot-5, 239 pound tight end, came out of Southern Arkansas and was signed after the 2018 draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During his time in Tampa Bay, he played a total of 20 games for 67 yards. He was in all four post-season games leading to Super Bowl LV, where he received a ring.

More recently, Hudson was with the San Francisco 49ers, however, he was waived on Aug. 23. He played a total of two games with the 49ers, but did not catch any passes.

Due to multiple injuries on the team, the Giants are needing tight end depth. Hudson could be very beneficial for the Giants this season.

To make room for Hudson's addition, the Giants waived former Alabama center Chris Owens in order to bring in Hudson.

The Giants will be hosting a joint practice with the New York Jets. The Jets have multiple tight ends on their roster that have potential to try out if they are cut.
