El Paso’s Brew Battle Pillow Fight Recap: A Fluffy Fundraiser

When local podcast legends and radio rivals square off in a ring armed with nothing but pillows, chaos and a whole lot of laughter is guaranteed. That’s exactly what went down at Brew Battle Pillow Fight 2025, a wildly successful fundraiser thrown together by the good folks at The Buzzzed Podcast to benefit The Jazz Exchange.

Held at the always cool, Soggy Peso, this fluffy fight night was nothing short of epic. And yes, yours truly, Grizz from 93.1 KISS-FM, was the main event, stepping into the ring against none other than Dario “The Delicious One” from 104.3 HIT-FM. Did we leave it all in the ring? Absolutely. Were feathers flying? You bet your sore biceps they were.

Influencers, Siblings, and Sudden Smackdowns

The star-studded lineup featured a who’s who of El Paso personalities. The entire crew from the Death In A Hoodie Podcast showed up ready to brawl, each sibling getting their own match-up like a live-action family reunion turned WWE promo.

One of the night’s most anticipated battles? Local icon Annie’s Adventures took on Jez, the powerhouse lead singer of The PIE Sisters, in a match that ended in a double knockout! With Jez’s sisters acting as judges, it was both tense and hilarious, and yes, there was questionable judging, but it’s hard to argue with glitter, sass, and feathers.

As if the night couldn’t get more intense, two members of Guardians of the Children, Rigs and Krom, known more for their biker jackets than bedtime antics, jumped in and put on one of the rowdiest fights of the night, all in the name of charity.

Pillow Fight Tips: So You Think You Can Swing?

Feeling inspired? Want to jump in the ring next time? Here are a few survival tips from those of us who’ve lived through the fluff and fury:

• Cardio Is King: Three rounds at two minutes each might sound short… until you’re halfway through the first and already questioning your life choices. Train like you're running a mini-marathon.

• Hydrate or Hibernate: A dry mouth and a dizzy head don’t make for good defense. Water is your best friend.

• Jello Arms Are Real: Practice swinging at home. You’ll be shocked how quickly those pillow blows start to feel like lifting anvils.

• It’s All About The Show: The crowd eats up drama. Think pro wrestling. Come in with a character, a costume, and an attitude. Talk your smack. Hit your poses. Get the people going.

By the end of the night, we were bruised, breathless, and beyond proud. Not just because we got to let loose and play pretend gladiator, but because together, we raised a fantastic amount for a program that gives young musicians life-changing opportunities.
