The Rainbow Room In El Paso Needs Help With Donations
The Texas Department of Family and Protective services in El Paso is asking for help to stock what they call "the Rainbow Room" which helps El Paso families in need.
The Rainbow Room is funded by a non-profit called community partners of El Paso but their contributions only go so far and the Rainbow Room still needs lots of supplies. These are used to help keep families in need together and they can use all kinds of stuff.
Kids clothing, electronics, cleaning supplies, school supplies, hygiene products ... basically, anything and everything a family in crisis may suddenly need. NOTE: The Rainbow Room is not open to the public and they only assist those with open Child Protective Services cases.
Sometimes a family, lacking the simplest things, can be separated and that's what the Rainbow Room wants to prevent.
"Sometimes what's coming between removing children from a home is items in the Rainbow Room," Colon said. "Maybe a family just needs cleaning supplies to get a home cleaned up and they're struggling to buy cleaning supplies. We can provide them with that supplies from the Rainbow Room so that we can avoid removing kids from homes." - kfox
