Unveiling Texas’ Infamous Women: Stories Behind the Executions
True crime is a popular trend and it's been gaining popularity more and more over the years. Many people use true crime cases as a way to go viral or as content for their podcasts. With so many true crime shows and podcasts people tend to get desensitized to the real crimes.
According to Wise Voter, Texas is known to have the highest prison population in the United States. The incarcerated male population sits at about 123,263 and the female population sits at about 10,509.
When crimes are so horrific, they come with a severe form of punishment. Here in Texas, we have the death penalty and Texas holds the highest number of executions than any other state. The Lone Star sits at almost 600 executions as of October 2024. Out of all these executions, only 6 are women.
People always ask me why I love true crime so much. I can speak only for myself but the psychology of the crimes is what fascinates me. What drives these people to do these horrific crimes? Were they born that way or created to be monsters by their upbringing? In some cases, the suspects suffered a horrible head injury and haven't been the same since.
I can't tell you why these women did what they did. Some seemed to have done it for the insurance money while some have no rhyme or reason. Regardless these crimes come from the deepest of nightmares. I will let you judge them for yourself.
