There is never anything to do in Midland-Odessa. How often do we all say those words? Pretty much every weekend but is that really the case? Or are we just not really looking into what there is to do? I think that is the more accurate scenario but get ready for a huge event this weekend, one that happens to be for the entire family!

WHAT IS THERE TO DO IN THE PERMIAN BASIN THIS WEEKEND?

This Saturday, June 10th, the 36th Annual Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Mex Tex Family Fiesta will take place in Midland at Centennial Plaza.

WHAT IS THE LINEUP FOR MEX TEX ON SATURDAY?

Several bands are scheduled to perform this Saturday including Michael Salgado, Jaime DeAnda, The Latin Breed, and Conjunto Bandits.

Fantastic entertainment, live music, good food, and good times with the family.

You can also watch some local talented chefs battle it out at the Fajita and Menudo Cook-off.

WHAT TIME DO GATES OPEN AND DO THE FESTIVITIES KICK OFF?

Gates open at 3:30 pm at Centennial Park, 200 W. Wall St. in Midland.

A kids' parade will kick off the festivities and there will also be a kids' area to keep the little ones entertained throughout the day. Make sure to enter the cornhole tournament that will also take place that day.

Arts and crafts vendors will have their items for purchase and food vendors will be on hand as well.

Tickets are $25 for the MHCC Mex Tex Family Fiesta and may be purchased through eventbrite.com
