Here’s How You Can Help Local Families This Christmas In Midland/Odessa

Christmas will be here before you know it! Christmas can be an amazing time of year but also a very hard struggle for others. I am a firm believer if you are blessed you should pass those blessings forward and that is why I have been working with 3:11 Ministries for almost 10 years. One of the main reasons I got involved with 3:11 is because of heart and passion behind the organization. I love the fact that they work directly with school counselors to know the kids that are in actual need.

3:11 was founded in 2013 as a small community project to provide Christmas to 60 students referred by school counselors and in 9 years the project has grown immensely. Currently 3:11 assists about 3,000 students per year. 3:11 has multiple projects for students throughout the year that include Back to School, Khakis for Kids, Perfect Promise, and Christmas In The Village. The biggest program is Christmas in the village. They take referrals from school counselors and other organizations including MISD family support center and Communities in Schools. This year they are also partnering with the Salvation Army to adopt the teenage members of their families.

Families are provided gifts for each child in their home from newborns to high school seniors with items that include: clothing, shoes, toiletries, toys, blankets, and jackets. A portion of families are sponsored by members of the community who shop for these precious kids and the remaining families are provided a Santa package by 3:11 and its awesome volunteers.
