Central Texas can be a beautiful place to live. Of course, when it's not blazing hot outdoors. But some residents have noticed that the sky above the area has gotten a little more cloudy.

Why Is There A Hazy Sky Above Central Texas?

Believe it or not, the haze isn't caused by anyone in the Lone Star State. Rather, it's our friends in Mexico that are contributing to the hazy skies. As revealed by KXAN, the country of Mexico is going through "burning season."

The event for Mexico assists in making the soil in the country better for future crops. However, the smoke from the burning just doesn't get up to Texas without help. Mother Nature plays a part as well.

KXAN stated that when the wind comes from the north, the haze in nonexistent. But...when the wind comes from the south, we will see the haze above us.

How Does The Haze Affect Us In Central Texas?

KXAN revealed that not only is the sky just cloudy overall, the quality of the air isn't the best either. The season makes the air quality in the Central Texas area to be categorized as "moderate." In addition, high humidity in Central Texas contributes to the situation.

Also, another natural disaster, wildfires doesn't help. Per the United States Environmental Protection Agency, wildfire smoke has “a mixture of gaseous pollutants” that make the haze both thick and not safe.

So in conclusion, let's hope the wind blows in our favor and the sky isn't as cloudy.
